TÜBİSAD Ordinary General Assembly Meeting Held - May 13, 2023 Press Release
Mehmet Ali Tombalak has become the new President of TUBISAD.
In the Ordinary General Assembly of the Informatics Industry Association (TUBISAD) held on May 12th, Mehmet Ali Tombalak was elected as the Chairman of the Board.
The Ordinary General Assembly of the Informatics Industry Association (TUBISAD) took place at the Microsoft Turkey office. During the General Assembly, 21 direct and 9 deputy members of the Board of Directors were appointed, and Mehmet Ali Tombalak was elected as the Chairman of the Board.
In his opening speech at the General Assembly, TUBISAD Chairman Levent Kızıltan said: "While ensuring TÜBİSAD maintains its leading position in the information and communication technologies sector, it is inevitable that the information and communication technologies sector will play a crucial role in the development and progress of Turkey. When we invest in technology, we think about Turkey and its future, but not without considering the future of the world. As we enter the second century of our Republic with the goal of reaching the level of contemporary civilization that Mustafa Kemal Atatürk left to us, our direction is the path of science, and our path is the path of technology. We are aware of this responsibility as TUBISAD. Just like every year, in the coming period, every success achieved in this exciting journey shaped by digitization and leading to our country's common goals will be the result of our collective efforts. I would like to thank our members, representatives who have participated in our working groups, and the General Secretariat team for their contributions to all these created values."
Mehmet Ali Tombalak, who was elected as the Chairman of the TUBISAD, expressed the following in his thank-you speech: "I would like to express my gratitude to all our past chairmen, board members, and the dedicated members of TUBISAD who have brought our association, which is as old as the history of the information and communication technologies sector in our country, to these days and contributed to this large family. We are ready to work with determination to carry this flag to much higher points together. As we prepare to celebrate the 100th anniversary of our Republic, a bright future shaped by all the components of our industry lies ahead of us."
Mehmet Ali TOMBALAK Bio
After graduating from Uludağ University with a degree in Electronic Engineering in 1987, Mehmet Ali Tombalak completed his master's degree in business administration at Marmara University. He began his professional career as a central engineer at Gaziantep Türk Telekom and continued to work at Teleteknik from 1989 to 1994. In 1994, he started as a sales manager at Probil and continued in that role until the company was sold in 2001. In 2002, he became the general manager of Eastern Networks Turkey, a company he co-founded with a foreign partner. In 2007, at the request of Probil's management, he returned to the group as CEO and held this position until Probil was sold to Netaş in 2012. After serving as the General Manager of the Corporate Sector at Netaş for six years, he left the company voluntarily.
Currently, he serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Fineksus, a company he founded. In addition, he supports the management teams of companies he has been involved in as an entrepreneur and continues to work by providing voluntary mentoring.
